It’s officially week eight, and there is less than a week until the Digital Summer Clinic’s graduation!

This week was a busy one as I worked to leave Denovo Fertility with as much website support and wireframing as possible, ensuring a smooth transition after my internship ends.

One highlight from the week was completing my Google Analytics certification. I finished with a score of 92 percent! It feels great to have this certification under my belt, and I’m excited to carry this knowledge forward into future projects.

This week, I learned a lot from the Clinic’s in-person “All Hands” meeting, themed “Start-up Stories,” where a panel of entrepreneurs shared their insights. My biggest takeaway was the emphasis placed on truly knowing your target audience. It’s not enough to simply know that they exist; you need to speak with them, understand them, and walk in their shoes. As I continue my work with The Eastern Echo, getting to know my classmates and community members will be key to publishing, designing, and writing content that resonates with them.

Looking back on the internship, one of the biggest skills I’ve learned overall is how to advocate for myself and my ideas. Even as a new intern, I’ve learned that speaking up can be a valuable contribution. I’ve learned that being new to a company can be used to my advantage, as it gives me a fresh perspective that can uncover the opportunities and problems that others might miss.

I’m grateful that my experiences at the Digital Summer Clinic have helped me grow both my skills and my confidence, and have empowered me to make a real impact in all the work that I do.

Quote of the week:

“Instead of pointing fingers, I took ownership of everything I saw.”
